Charley Bartlett

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, EFR Instructor

Since I was young I've always loved the water, growing up in suburban England I'd often dream of being a mermaid! On SCUBA its pretty much the next best thing!! I used to swim a lot when I was younger, but didn't actually take my first dive until I was 21. That was on The Great Barrier Reef, it opened my eyes to a whole new world and from then on I just longed to be back under the sea again. I continued on to take my PADI Open Water course in the Red Sea, from Egypt which only fueled my passion for blowing bubbles. I dived a few places in the Mediterranean Sea, but decided to spend some time working in Malta to gain my PADI Divemaster. The warm climate, bath temperature sea, beautiful corals and the number of and variety of wrecks surrounding those little islands made for some amazing diving!! The next few years found me sharing time between the snowy mountains of French and Southern Alps and the salty shores of New Zealand and Australia. Whilst in Australia I worked as a Divemaster/ Host on the very same sailing catamarans that took me for that first glimpse of the fishy existence I fell in love with 7 years earlier!

Since arriving in the Caribbean in early 2013 I've been able to continue experiencing everything that I love about diving; the sea is warm, the fish are plenty, there's colourful coral, old rusty wrecks and always plenty of happy faces to surface to and share tales of the days dives!

I returned to Malta, in Spring 2015, to complete my training as a full blown PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Now theres nothing but bubbles and a flooded mask from my smiley face to get in the way!
